TRADITION
The Tola winery was born from the passion and intuition of Girolamo Tola known as "Mimmo", who inherited his love for the land, and in particular for viticulture, from his father Francesco.
For the Tola family, the land is therefore sustenance, life, but also enthusiasm, satisfaction and pride.
In 1992 the Tola winery was born. Mimmo Tola, with commitment and dedication, becomes one of the most appreciated producers of Sicilian wines.
OUR VINEYARDS
“Wine is made in the vineyard”, this is what Mimmo says. It is from there that everything originates and that is why he has been concerned with the care of plants since their inception. The vineyards are located in the Bosco Falconeria and Grassuri Airoldi estates, at an altitude of about 400 meters. above sea level, in one of the most prestigious terroirs in Sicily.
From there the entire gulf of Castellammare is dominated, where the plains beaten by the warm sirocco winds and the light sea breeze give way to the gentle and sunny hills.
The cultivation is espalier, simple guyot, with a density of 4600 plants per hectare.
Tola wines come from highly selected grapes, from native vines such as: Nero d'Avola, Syrah, Grillo, Catarratto, Insolia, Zibibbo and from international vines such as: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.
INNOVATION
To characterize the quality process, a marked attention to new techniques in the vineyard and in the cellar, to continue with refinements in steel or in French oak barriques.
The result is peculiar and innovative wines, which enhance the exotic scents of the land of Sicily.
The company has always been committed to obtaining greater control in terms of efficiency, timing, and business savings, through a reduction in management costs and a gradual decrease in energy consumption with the aid of the latest generation, low-impact machinery environment and reduced CO2 emissions.
