Fruit of a wise assemblage of the best grapes of Nero d’Avola of the Giambascio and Bosco Falconeria estates, the Black Label has become over the years the flagship of the Tola family.
The grape harvest takes place with manual harvesting in boxes during the second half of September, then the grapes arrive at the cellar where they ferment in steel tanks for four weeks at a controlled temperature of 28 C°. At this point there is the passage in french oak barrels where it remains to refine for 8-10 months before bottling and the subsequent mellowing in glass for another a wine with an intense ruby colour and an eclectic character. At the nose is ethereal, intense with a range of aromas spacing out from fruity, sweet and ripe scents to floral notes of violetand moreover, spices and roastings.
The taste is soft, smooth, material; the creamy phenolic mass is perceived and supported by a note of acidity and a velvety tannin.
It is suitable for second courses of grilled red meat, pasta with pork sauce and high-seasoned cheeses; it should be tried cold with a good rice with cuttlefish ink or fish roasts such as tuna and swordfish.
